Album title? Opprobrium

Where did the title of your new album come from? Funnily enough, I discovered the word ‘opprobrium’ in an AFL article. Curiosity led me to finding out what it meant, and it seemed very apt to use it considering the nature of the album.

How many releases do you have now? One demo, three splits, two EPs, two-full lengths in various formats. The simple answer is eight.

How long did it take to write/record? The songs were crafted over the period of about five years. The recording process was over a couple of months, but about five full days in the studio all up.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? As usual, we were inspired by the feeling that black death metal from the late ‘80s to mid ‘90s gave.

What’s your favourite song on it? Forever The Blood Shall Flow. It is our longest song ever.

Will you do anything differently next time? Probably not. We are totally satisfied with the final result. The next challenge is to top Opprobrium.

When and where is your launch/next gig? A dual CD launch with Abominator at Reverence Hotel on the 30 May from 6pm. $15. Darkness and destruction prevails!
