Name: Julz Parker

Album title? Lucky Joe's Wine & Other Tales From Dog River (Bonus Edition)

Where did the title of your new album come from? We recorded the album in a beautiful studio in Dog River, Mobile, Alabama and the title track is a dedication to our good friend Giuseppe Fortunato’s (Lucky Joe) homemade wine.

How many releases do you have now? Four studio albums, two live albums, one live DVD.

How long did it take to write/record? Overall probably about 18 months of writing, but a few tracks were finished off in the studio during the two weeks of recording.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? The studio setting was pretty amazing — Spanish moss dripping out of the magnolia trees and fish literally jumping. Straight out of a Harper Lee novel.

What's your favourite song on it? At the moment probably the bonus track Pirate Flag which we released last week. It's always lots of fun live.

Will you do anything differently next time? We've actually recorded most of our next album and it was done completely differently. We recorded most of that in London with lots of layering as opposed to live tracking.

When and where is your launch/next gig? 2 Mar, Family Hotel, Tamworth; 3 Mar, Leadbelly, Newtown; 5 Mar, Lizotte's, Newcastle.
