Give us a short description of your music: It's mysterious in the sense that you never know what you're gunna get. It could be a sudden emotion or empowerment or a punch in the stomach.

Which acts are on your must-see list at BIGSOUND? Not A Boys Name, Kwame, Olympia, Tyne James organ and Charlie Collins.

In your career to date, what have been the key watershed moments? A key watershed moment was when I had just turned 18 and was heading out on the first tour I'd ever done. I have a very tight relationship with my mum so it was definitely one of my vulnerable moments saying goodbye to her and hitting the road by myself.

If you could give your younger self, starting out as a musician, a few words of wisdom, what would they be? If you want other people to believe in you, then first you gotta believe in yourself. Trust yourself a little more, you're smarter than you think and you can do anything, so do what makes you damn well happy.

Why should people come and see you among the many amazing bands at BIGSOUND? I like to not just perform but give people a unique experience which is why the performance side of my music is really important for me. It's also not just about how I express myself physically and musically, it's also about creating a special connection with every individual watching.

What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? I really want to see Virginia Hanlon Grohl speak. I want to hear what it's like being behind someone like Dave Grohl's life. I think that's a lesson to be learnt in itself, living behind cameras and lights. There's an art to that kind of life which I find pretty fascinating.

What do you identify as the most pressing issue impacting the Australian music industry at present? Equality of genders. Up until just now, us ladies are finally being heard and it's really good to see the positive change affecting the music industry currently. I'm very grateful for all the women who have been fighting for all of us. As a young woman, I feel the difference.

What music trends do you think are dominating right now, and do you have any predictions for the coming year? I feel like rock is definitely being embraced a bit more again which is so epic to see. I was brought up listening to old rock bands, and so I'd always look back on those eras and wish I was born in them.

When and where is your BIGSOUND showcase? I will be playing on Tuesday night, 9:40pm at 256 Wickham and Thursday night, 9:40pm at Family.
