Brisbane “sad rock” band Bad Neighbour dropped their track, Millions - and their debut album of the same name - months ago, to much excitement from their fans. Cracking the ARIA vinyl charts, Millions was a breakthrough statement from the band, saying, “We’re here to stay.”

And what better way to cement their status as up-and-coming musicians than to drop a high-budget music video of their best track? That’s where The Music comes in - providing fans with the exclusive premiere of Bad Neighbour’s new music video for Millions. You can find it below.

But, before you indulge in the video, frontman Cooper Riley is here to spill all.

Tell us about the video!

Director Aaron Shambrook reached out after seeing us support Hot Mulligan with the concept for the video. We were beyond eager to be involved, as we have never done something this high budget before. It was filmed across 2 days, all of the live shots were in an old abandoned warehouse that we rigged up with a sprinkler system and a tonne of lights, and the rest was shot at my house.

What was the concept of the video?

I think the general concept is just a relationship at its end, with our actress Yasmin (Honeychurch) being on the side of having to put her foot down and do what is best for her character. I guess she’s battling with herself over that decision.

What’s the significance of the song and corresponding album?

A lot of the record had to do with my views on money and how it affects all of us differently, but the general concept was that I guess it won’t fix everything if you’re secure financially – “I spent a million on soap and I’m not even clean” is a pretty relevant lyric to the general theme, I think.

How was the reception to the album?

Exciting to say the least! We managed to secure a spot on the ARIA vinyl charts and our fanbase seemed to really enjoy it, as well as picking up a tonne of new fans along the way. We’ve been lucky enough to tour it around the country four times since its release.

What does the future hold for Bad Neighbour? Will we be seeing more of you this year?

We’re currently in the midst of writing and recording our next body of work. I think there’s lots of news to come about that soon as well as news on a bunch of other things that we can’t talk about just yet. We’re touring until the wheels fall off this year, so we’ll see you at a show.
