Gold Coast outfit Mass Sky Raid return today with a new single, Tidal Wave, as they build towards a new EP release and only showing a snippet of what 2023 will hold.
The alt-rockers are no strangers to the stage, first stepping onto the scene in 2013 and previously supporting the likes of Dead Letter Circus and Twelve Foot Ninja.
Their latest album, Calm In Chaos, won The Triffid’s Album of the Year award in November 2022.
The release of Calm In Chaos was largely due to support from their fans and community, which is exactly why Mass Sky Raid have a bright future as one of the country's leading heavy music bands – today’s Kill Your Stereo premiere of Tidal Wave commences the band’s exciting new chapter.
An exciting rock song produced and mixed, and mastered by Dead Letter Circus’s Luke Palmer, the chorus to Tidal Wave is sure to get stuck in listeners’ heads from the get-go.
The lyric video, which we’re premiering today, was created by the music marketing agency View Maniac, which you can check out below.

Vocalist Adam Lomas said about the new song, “Lyrically, Tidal Wave explores a relationship in its twilight. The confronting realisation of a connection lost. As each person’s lives change they are forced to redefine who they are together. Without letting go of the memories of the past, they can no longer have a future.”
Lomas added, “After releasing our album Calm In Chaos last year, we wanted to show a different side of Mass Sky Raid and create something that sounded fresh. It's probably one of the more alternative rock side of what we have to offer.”
“I actually wrote the lyrics to the song sitting on the top of a hotel on the beach staring out to the ocean. I am pretty sure that is what inspired the Tidal Wave theme.
“In the past, me and Alex [Kewley, guitar] have been heavily involved in the writing process. Our newer members, Josh [Whitney, bass] and Nic [Ross, drums], are both now bringing their own flavour to the Mass Sky Raid sounds, which I am loving.”
