Two Australian heavyweights, Our Golden Friend (record label and artist management company) and Collective Artists (boutique booking agency), have teamed up to present a free party/showcase for this year’s Indie-Con.

The AIR (Australian Independent Record Labels Association) Indie-Con takes place annually in Adelaide, and the showcase will be held at Cry Baby in Adelaide on Wednesday, 31 July.

Starring RVG vocalist Romy Vager performing a solo set of songs from the band’s Australian Music Prize-winning album, Brain Worms, the party at Cry Baby has also locked in singer-songwriter Queenie, up-and-coming Adelaide artist Effie Isobel, and headliners Coldwave.

Coldwave are three-time South Australian Music Awards nominees who have brought their unrelenting brand of post-punk music to the national stage. The times of performances at the showcase at Cry Baby are listed below.

The Indie-Con party takes place on the first night of the three-day event, which goes from 31 July to Friday, 2 August. The showcase is free to attend, but AIR Indie-Con pass holders will be given priority entry. Indie-Con conference passes can be purchased here.

In May, a bunch of international speakers for Indie-Con’s 2024 conference program were revealed.

They are Lisa Hresko (general manager at A2IM, aka the American Association of Independent Music), Nicole Ficenec (an independent producer and artist manager), and Emmy Feldman (polymath behind indie publishing company Heavy Duty) from the US – while Scotland will be represented by Stuart Kennedy (a booking agent for ATC Live) and Germany by Ellie Rumbold (of Partisan Records).

The complete program for Indie-Con 2024 was announced last month. The three-day event will feature more than 80 speakers across 18 sessions, covering every corner of the Australian (and global) music industry.
