Ever since the launch of Ausmusic T-Shirt Day, the unofficial holiday for local music-lovers has been a high point of the country’s musical calendar. Now, it’s expanding with Support Act announcing the addition of Mobmusic T-Shirt Day.

Announced today, the inuaugural Mobmusic T-Shirt Day will coincide with Ausmusic T-Shirt Day on Thursday, November 28th, with music fans from around the country urged to wear shirts emblazoned with their favourite Australian and First Nations artists.

According to Support Act, this new focus sees them shining a light on the impact of First Nations people in the Australian music industry with the community-led campaign being presented in collaboration with triple j Blak Out presenter, rapper, and Yuin and Thunghutti man Nooky.

As part of the collaboration, Nooky has teamed up with Gadigal artist Jeswri – a veteran graffiti writer, art director, designer and illustrator – for the design of a new Mobmusic t-shirt as part of their annual premium t-shirt range.

The design features not only Nooky himself, but a myriad talented First Nations greats, including YNG Martyr, Troy Cassar-Daley, Kaiit, Soju Gang, Dan Sultan, The Kid LAROI, Archie Roach, Briggs & Trials of A.B. Original, Ruby Hunter, and more.

According to Nooky, his plan was to “make something memorable… something everyone, regardless of colour, would want to wear.”

“There is so much Blak excellence on this shirt, from the greats to the young guns,” he added.

All net proceeds from the shirt’s sales will go towards Support Act’s First Nations crisis relief programs.

Alongside this news, Support Act have also revealed that they will be doubling the impact of donations made this weekend (beginning Friday, October 18th), with Sennheiser matching donations dollar-for-dollar up to a total of $13,000.

All donations made in during this period will go directly to the Mobmusic T-Shirt Day pool.
