ROLE DESCRIPTION
As the Instrumental Programs Lead you will be responsible for driving the growth of our in house instrumental and digital labels (eg. Soothe Sounds, Florecilla Records). Your key duties will be to lead new artist acquisitions and associated catalogues, ensure industry leading artist support is maintained (in conjunction with the artist support team), and oversee the rollout of the instrumental labels marketing strategy (in conjunction with the GYROstream marketing team). This will involve collaboration with all GYROstream teams to ensure overall revenue growth and increase brand reputation across the instrumental labels portfolio.
You are a confident, enthusiastic and results-driven person who thrives on getting the details right and using good processes. This role requires frequent email communication with artists, pitching their releases, creating and growing third party playlists, working with the marketing team on website updates, mass communications and social media strategy, analysing and reporting on progress of the program and helping artists within the program increase their digital music revenue.

Soothe Sounds is GYROgroup’s exclusive, invite-only instrumental music program, promoting original neo-classical and contemporary instrumental reworks of popular classics on DSPs globally. Building a strong reputation for premium customer service, Soothe Sounds artists receive priority assistance throughout the distribution process and top tier editorial DSP pitching.
Now home to some of the world’s leading composers, pianists, harpists and classical guitarists, Soothe Sounds has grown organically thanks to word of mouth and the increasing success of the artists using the program. Artists featured in the Soothe Sounds program have been Grammy nominated and topped leading instrumental editorial playlists such as Peaceful Piano and Jazz in the Background on Spotify. Global leaders in the instrumental music space, Soothe Sounds is constantly looking to expand its offering to artists and is always interested in finding and supporting new instrumental talent.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Onboarding New Artists: Maintain a focus on onboarding new artists and bringing in new business. Utilise sales ability to create strong relationships with new artists and onboard artists with a focus on transferring catalogues to GYROstream.
Artist Liaison: Continue to provide exceptional ongoing support and relationship management to our network of composers and artists. Take responsibility for artists issues and ensure the artist support team is upholding the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
Cultivating Existing Artist Base: Finding new and exciting opportunities to develop the existing artist catalogue with a focus on growing revenue across a range of mediums. This includes but is not limited to ensuring artists are aware of and are using additional features if applicable such as TikTok CML, Artist Marketing Services, MCN, DistroDirect and Publishing Administration services.
Marketing & Brand Awareness: Has a strong sense of the instrumental labels branding and how this translates to the success of the programs. Puts a focus into ensuring the branding is taken care of.
Third Party Playlist Growth: Work with the marketing team and be responsible for ensuring the continued and accelerated growth of the Instrumental third party playlists the company owns to help drive streaming outcomes for our artists.
Artist Support: Work alongside the instrumental artist support team to provide exceptional ongoing support to our network of composers and artists. Take responsibility for high priority artist issues with a positive and detail oriented approach.
Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our platforms and industry trends to effectively guide and educate customers. Provide information on our services, pricing and promotional opportunities.
Service and Product Strategy: working across multiple GYROstream teams to enhance and improve the product and service offering that will generate tangible outcomes for the instrumental label artists. Gather and relay customer feedback and suggestions to the appropriate teams.
Data Driven Growth: Analyse and report on growth and success of the labels through regular updates and use data driven decisions to suggest ways to further advance both the artists and brands.
Catalogue ingestion and set up as required: Ensure accuracy and attention to detail when setting up releases and/or making changes to releases - ensure consistency across all systems (eg. Admin suite / AudioSalad / Linkfire spreadsheet etc). Ensure a comprehensive understanding of metadata style guides and adhere to these guides for processing new releases on a daily basis.
Report any suspicious or potentially infringing upload activity, or potential fraudulent streaming that may be identified during any of these tasks.
Phone and in-person artist meetings as required. Be available and flexible for evening and early morning calls with overseas artists in different timezones as required.
KEY FEATURES OF THE POSITION
Minimum two years in a related music industry role with experience in artist negotiation, A&R, marketing, sales or distribution.
Experience in the instrumental or music production space, either in classical, contemporary classical, new age, ambient or other similar genres is highly regarded.
Capable sales person and negotiator, personable and a good communicator.
Experience using Freshdesk CMS system or equivalent CMS system within a support team environment is highly regarded
Possess a positive attitude, passion for life and music, grace under pressure and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and team
Master of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to problem solve on the fly to resolve customer issues - all while being able to prioritize, multi-task and delegate.
Intermediate knowledge of G Suite basic applications such as Sheets and Docs.
Ability to be adaptable and learn 3rd party softwares essential to artist support processes.
