The pair will be inducted at the ceremony in December
Iconic soft-rock duo Air Supply will be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame at this year's ARIA Awards ceremony, it's been announced today.
The pairing of Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell are one of our most successful musical exports, particuluarly in the US. After signing to Arista Records in 1980, the duo scored a Billboard top five hit with Lost In Love, which initiated a run of seven consecutive top five singles in the US singles chart in just over five years.
Their albums, which includes 18 studio LPs and six Greatest Hits compilations have sold over 40 million copies and their singles have also sold more than 10 million copies around the world. Despite forming nearly 40 years ago, Air Supply continue to tour the globe, playing around 150 shows per year.
Hitchcock said the pair were very touched by the honour.
