Eight months on from their stellar headline performance at Naarm/Melbourne venue The Forum, heavy legends Alpha Wolf have now shared a pro-shot recording of the gig for free on YouTube.

Taking place on August 3rd, 2024, Alpha Wolf’s massive headline date took place in support of their third studio album, Half Living Things. Their first new album in four years, the record hit #19 on the Aussie charts, and even featured an unexpected collaboration with none other than Body Count vocalist (and Law & Order: SVU mainstay) Ice-T.

When they hit the live stage, however, Alpha Wolf were determined to make it an affair to remember, bringing along Swedish outfit Thrown, and American legends Invent Animate and The Devil Wears Prada.

Reporting for The Music, writer Rod Whitfield noted that Alpha Wolf’s headline gig at The Forum meant that the audience “bore witness to something rather special” that evening.

“The most visually stunning live show on the planet means little if the music it’s supporting isn’t just as impressive. And musically Alpha Wolf back it up like legends,” he wrote. “This band proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that, just because a band’s sound is raw, stripped-back and punky, doesn’t mean they lack instrumental chops. Every member of this band slays on their instrument, while the whole still more than measures up to the sum of its parts.

“When you have fabulous musicians smashing out energy-laden and memorable tunes on a dazzling stage set, that’s where the magic happens. This is what Alpha Wolf deliver for their enraptured fans tonight. And they do so with humility, even self-deprecation (at one stage, frontman Lochie Keogh even claims to be suffering from ‘imposter syndrome’ standing where he’s standing.)”
