Brisbane Comedy Festival Has Revealed Its Full 2020 Program

The program features some of Australia's finest emerging and established comics.

Brisbane Comedy Festival has unveiled its 2020 program, which boasts some of the top comics from Queensland, Australia and the world.

Representing Queensland are acts like Mel ButtleSteph TisdellBecky Lucas and Matt Okine. Emerging comics like David Woodheadthe host of triple j's Lunch in 2020, and 2019 MICF Best Newcomer and Golden Gibbo nominee, Oliver Coleman, join seasoned performers like Nazeem HussainJordan Raskopoulos and departing triple j Lunch host, Gen Fricker

The international line-up boasts artists like Mark Watson, Cal Wilson and Tom Walker's satirical news reporter, Jonathan Pie. Walker as Pie will also perform headline sets in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Sydney. 


While in past years the festival has been centred around the Brisbane Powerhouse, this year the festival will expand their offering to venues The Tivoli and Fortitude Music Hall. 

In the words of Brisbane Powerhouse Artistic Director Kris Stewart: “It’s been 11 years since Brisbane Comedy Festival first brought the laughs and it’s fantastic to see so many new acts making their debut in 2020 alongside stalwarts who have a long history with the city, including Dave Hughes, who performed in the inaugural Brisbane Comedy Festival in 2009.

“Our festival family continues to grow and this year we welcome two new venues into the fold – The Tivoli and Fortitude Music Hall – who will turn their spotlights on our stars and provide them with all new spaces to entertain audiences and engage with fans."
