Coldplay began the first night of their massive Music Of The Spheres tour of Australia last night, putting on a show for fans at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.
The show was the band’s first of four at Marvel Stadium – next week, the band will begin their four shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium – and it went off with a bang and some fireworks to make everyone’s night on a Wednesday. The tour follows their most recent visit to the country in 2023, where they played two exclusive dates in Perth.
For the tour, Coldplay have been joined by special guests singer songwriter Ayra Starr and hip-hop artist Shone, alongside the previously-announced Emmanuel Kelly.
As Coldplay are promoting two albums that many Australian fans haven’t gotten the chance to experience live yet (Music Of The Spheres and this year’s Moon Music), of course, there are some new songs on the setlist for the Australian tour – read on to find out which classics remain in the set.
Coldplay performed three songs from their newly released album, Moon Music, and four from 2021’s Music Of The Spheres, but there are still hits in the set.
From A Rush Of Blood To The Head, Coldplay performed The Scientist and Clocks. From Mylo Xyloto, they performed the fan favourites Charlie Brown and Paradise. They also played the beloved Parachutes numbers Sparks and Yellow.
