Acclaimed Australian electronic outfit Crooked Colours returns this week with a pulsating new single, I Can’t Forget You.
Phillip Slabber, who solely leads Crooked Colours, is an electronic powerhouse from Fremantle, Western Australia. With over a decade of music mastery under his belt, the outfit has soured through to #1 on the ARIA Dance album charts and toured nationally on numerous occasions.
I Can't Forget You is an exploration of love and loss. Encapsulating those moments when we can’t help but indulge in the past, the track fixates on how it makes us feel in the present. Slabber's vocals are magnetic and haunting, finding a seamless balance between moments of love and despair. The new single sees Crooked Colours stay true to his beloved sound while boldly shape-shifting towards the future.
Slabber said of the new single, “I Can't Forget You, I co-wrote with Julian Hamilton from The Presets, and it represents the first step on a new path for the project. I hope you enjoy it, and listen out for plenty more to come.”
Crooked Colours is cemented as a highlight of many local and international festivals, including Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Beyond The Valley, Groovin The Moo, and the multi-day US attraction Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
Remaining consistent in the international dance music scene, Crooked Colours once performed as a trio. The group's defining tracks include their breakthrough Flow, later coming out with Do It Like You and Hold On. With over 260 million streams worldwide and numerous nominations, Slabber will now lead Crooked Colours as an unstoppable force, entering a new era.
