Have a listen to 'That Sound' here
Indie rockers Dappled Cities have given us a taste of their upcoming fifth album this afternoon with the release of their new single, That Sound. They'll also be giving the song the welcome it deserves by taking it on a east coast round of launch shows this July.
The band say they harnessed the "70s good time vibes" on the track, which boasts "mellow beats, plenty of cowbell, layers of harmonies - true splendour", as explained by singer/vocalist Tim Derricourt.
"We found ourselves in Byron Bay making a fittingly relaxed and positive record, taking all that we love about weirdo indie rock and adding some of that sweet 70s good time vibes to it."
The new record is due out in October, but it's no reason for the band to buckle down and not play any shows — they'll head to Northcote Social on 15 July and Oxford Art Factory on 16 July to give That Sound a whirl.
