Aotearoa-born, Western Sydney-based DEVAURA showcases her powerful, dynamic range on new single VERTIGO, providing a peak into her forthcoming debut EP Vol 1. Learning in Public out April 3rd

Ever since her humble emergence onto the music scene in 2023, the artist has been the name on everyone's lips. From receiving the PUMA Wildcard Award for Acclaim Magazine, taking out the 2024 FBi SMAC Awards for Best Live Act and Best Emerging Act, winning the Justin Cosby Best Emerging Act at SXSW Sydney 2024 and scoring the Sydney placement for the Triple J Unearthed Laneway Competition 2025, it’s never been more obvious that DEVAURA is a superstar whose light is only going to get brighter and brighter.

DEVAURA is no one-trick pony. While the artist has made a name for herself for her vicious raps and unabashed, brazen confidence over every beat she jumps on, VERTIGO offers a glimpse into the artist’s sonic world, one that thrives in softness and vulnerability just as much as it does self belief and certainty. VERTIGO is a captivating anthem of self-discovery that blends dynamic rhythm, striking synthesiser, and DEVAURA’s stunning vocal chops. The release comes following the artist’s recent appearances at Laneway Sydney, followed by a set at Tasmania’s Party in the Paddock the exact same day.

DEVAURA will take the stage next this upcoming March for WOMAD in Adelaide, also appearing at Gembrook’s queer music festival Gaytimes, ultimately leading to her EP launch on 3 April at The Vanguard in Sydney.

The DEVAURA live experience is a placeholder in “if you know, you know” territory. Those who have been able to witness the artist live truly understand why her imminent success is so well-deserved. Her performances are nothing short of spellbinding. Inside rooms packed wall-to-wall with people, DEVAURA captivates with her live band, showcasing a set that seamlessly transitions between beats, punk-influenced guitar and drums, and an enthralling vocal delivery, all packaged together by her infectious and vibrant stage presence.

“Live music is a great way to reference where society and community is at,” the artist said. “The less we see it, the more people suffer.”
