Groove is in the heart for Sydney electronic duo Flight Facilities as they team up with illuminating East London DJ Riva Starr for Know You Love Me. While the track arrives on a cloudy day in the duo’s home city, this single release doesn’t fail to bring the sunshine.
Capturing the sweat, shade and pure joy of a Summer’s day in Australia, Flight Facilities and Riva Starr cultivate a masterful blend of UK bass funk, ‘90s era American soul, with a dash of Australiana on this new track. Said to be “years in the making” by the duo, the song carefully sat in their archives until Starr was sent the song, eventually adding his personal flair to the modern dance anthem.
“Thanks to Riva’s production, it’s more polished, hits harder and feels more modern,” the duo said in a press release.
“But we think our listeners will be able to hear a bit of the Flight Fac DNA in there too. It was a demo we could never really seem to finish off but we always loved it and hoped it could find a home somehow. When we sent some demos to Stefano to see if there was anything with potential, he picked that one out and took it somewhere we never could have without his talent.”
“This has all been a new experience for me,” Starr recounted in a press release.
“I’ve found a lot of excitement in working with musicians, for instance MAFRO added some extra arrangements here in London—he’s an amazing musician and also produces with TSHA, and getting to create music with the guys has been a great learning experience. On top of that, Flight Facilities are really lovely chaps, and it’s a pleasure to work with them!”
