As we approach Christmas and finally wind down for the year, it’s understandable to wonder how much money Mariah Carey and Michael Bublé will pocket from Spotify for their festive tunes.
Let’s not forget: Spotify isn’t just used by individuals playing their favourite songs every day but also by local businesses, ensuring that there’s a good vibe when you sit down for a coffee or buy some new clothes. Christmas songs, then, are everywhere.
So, how much money are artists with Christmas songs taking home from Spotify? According to a study called The Holiday Hits Forecast 2024, which tracked the number of plays on the most popular Christmas songs housed on Spotify from 1 November to predict the winner this Christmas Day, Mariah Carey is the most popular artist on the list.
Artists with Christmas songs on Spotify are expected to pocket $88 million in streaming royalties by 27 December, with Mariah Carey set to take home $7 million. The Top 10 Most Popular Christmas Songs predicted for 2024 include one Aussie – Sia – multiple songs by Michael Bublé, and more.
