More John Farnham More John Farnham

The legendary John Farnham will be honoured at this year’s Logie Awards, and two of Australia’s finest singers, Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian, will pay tribute to him.

The reason for the tribute and its presentation at the Logie Awards is likely to commemorate Farnham’s illustrious career and celebrate the documentary Finding The Voice, which has been nominated for the Best Factual or Documentary Program award.

According to a news report on TV Tonight, Mauboy and Sebastian are set to perform with the Farnham Band.

Other performers who will appear at the Logie Awards include Missy Higgins – taking on the In Memoriam tribute – with Amy Shark, The Wiggles, Kate Miller-Heidke, David Campbell, and more to be in attendance.

The 2024 Logie Awards will once again be hosted by comedian Sam Pang. The Logie Awards will air on Channel 7 at 7 pm AEST this Sunday, 18 August.

John Farnham: Finding The Voice isn’t the only music-related program nominated for a Logie, with Hot Potato: The Story of The Wiggles in the same category, Bluey nominated for Best Children’s Program, A Silver Lining: Silverchair on Australian Story up for Best News Coverage or Public Affairs Report, and the Best Entertainment Program category stacked with the likes of Take 5 With Zan RoweAustralian Idol, and The Voice Australia.

Last month, it was announced that Jessica Mauboy would deliver the hype song for the Australian Olympic team.

Mauboy said of the banger, “It’s an absolute honour to lend my voice in support of our incredible Aussie athletes. Higher captures the spirit and energy of our amazing team, and I know I speak for all Aussies when I say we are thrilled to celebrate their dedication, passion, and the pride they bring to us all.”

On Monday (19 August), The Voice Australia returns to our screens, with Guy Sebastian the only returning judge coming back for this year’s season. He’ll be joined by newcomers Kate Miller-Heidke, Adam Lambert, and LeAnn Rimes. You can check out a teaser for the upcoming season here.
