So epic

More Bluesfest More Bluesfest

Given that the massively successful festival added Carlos Santana, The Doobie Brothers and Neil Young & The Promise Of The Real to the 2017 festival not long ago, one might reasonably assume Bluesfest would be running out of amazing additions by now.

Nope.

Today the Byron Bay mainstay has revealed English ska legends Madness, San Diego's Slightly Stoopid in what will be their third Bluesfest visit, indie folk favourites The Mountain Goats arriving for their debut performance, Miles Electric Band and more will join the already eclectic, exciting bill. Patti Smith and her band have also added another show to their Bluesfest commitments — she'll be playing a special, intimate acoustic set on Good Friday, in addition to rocking the stage on the festival's opening night on Thursday.

Billy Bragg, who was already announced on the bill, will now be performing with Grammy-winning Joe Henry, having recently announced the album Shine A Light: Field Recordings From The Great American Railroad together. Rhiannon Giddens will also return for next year's Bluesfest, having wowed crowds this year, alongside other new additions Max Jury, The Record Company, The California Honeydrops and Trevor Hall.

As incredible as this sixth announcement is, Bluesfest director Peter Noble assures there are many more to come — including another next week.

Byron Bay Bluesfest 2017 heads to Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm from Thursday 13 to Monday 17 April 2017. Tickets are available now.
