Polaris Nab NRL Fox League Advertisement

For this year’s season of the NRL, fans will get to hear some Aussie metalcore as Sydney-based band Polaris have nabbed a coveted advertising spot.

This isn’t the first time Fox League, the channel that plays all things related to the NRL on Foxtel, has locked in some heavy music for its advertising.

In 2022, Fox League kicked off that year’s rugby season with Australia’s most successful heavy metal band, Parkway Drive. In 2023, the channel recruited none other than British metalcore act Architects to kick off that season with a bang. Previous bands that have featured in NRL campaigns include Bring Me The Horizon, Royal Blood and Gang Of Youths.

In a new video posted to social media, Australian actor Matt Nable (Arrow, Mr Inbetween, Apple Cider Vinegar) narrates a clip about this year’s upcoming NRL season, which includes a highly anticipated match at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

With the Polaris track The Remedy playing in the background, the band teased, “BIG Tackles. BIGGER Riffs. Footy season is kicking off, and we are so stoked to be one of this season’s featured artists thanks to @foxleague!

“Expect to hear and see your boys rocking on the telly across Australia and USA when you tune into NRL on Fox Sports 1.”

Polaris stole the show at this year’s Knotfest Australia during the first edition in Melbourne yesterday, bringing a set packed with hits, pyrotechnics, and a surprise appearance from Void Of Vision’s Jack Bergin.

“It’s arguably the biggest thing we’ve done in Australia to date,” vocalist Jamie Hails told The Music of their Knotfest performance in a recent interview. “We’re really looking forward to putting on as big of a show as we can, really trying to deliver the spirit of what Knotfest is, but in our own way.”

With their NRL advertising spot, they may have secured something just as big—on a different scale—for audiences in Australia.
