It's out of this world.

More RACKETT More RACKETT

Psych-punk-pop quartet RACKETT are zooming off into the stratosphere today, releasing a brand new cosmic-themed single Space Cadet, premiering exclusively on theMusic.com.au.

The tune is infused with all the guitar-mastery fans have come to expect from the group, rounded off with a blistering solo and an unexpected co-writing credit.

"Space Cadet is an ode to our friend Steve; whom we met when we landed on the roof of his spacecraft after unintentionally rescuing us from our plummeting deaths," vocalist Rebecca Callander said.

"I warmed to Steve pretty quickly, he has an incredible taste for high-quality audio gear and he plays a monster triangle," drummer Astrid Holzsaid.

"It's an epic wall of guitar-filled psych-pop, inspired completely by our experience with our alien friend. Steve loves ridiculous guitar solos, I'll never forget his response after writing this ripper riff!" guitarist Kat Ayala said.

In tribute to Steve and to celebrate the release of the track, RACKETT are hitting the road for a huge national tour that will see them perform in Sydney, Manly, Coogee, Melbourne, Wollongong, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Perth and Albury this June and July.

Tickets to the  Space Cadet tour are on sale now; for more information, head to theGuide.
