The US icon will attend Q&A screenings while touring the country.

More Suzi Quatro More Suzi Quatro

The Australian release date has been set for a Suzi Quatro documentary produced by Australian filmmakers Tait Brady and Liam Firmager.

The release of Suzi Q coincides with the US rock icons fast-approaching Australian tour, with East Coast screenings - featuring a Q&A session with Quatro, Firmager and Brady - kicking off in late October before a wider release on November 21, following its world premiere at Melbourne International Film Festival last month.

Shot across three continents over four years, Suzi Q has been described as “the definitive, unexpurgated story of the girl from Detroit City who revolutionized the image of women in rock’n’roll”, and features interviews with Alice Cooper, Deborah Harry, Joan Jett, Henry Winkler and more.

“In making the film, it was important to us that we could get to the essence of who Suzi is,” Firmager said.

“Getting the distance and objectivity that we required took time, and developing trust was paramount. After all, we were asking Suzi to emotionally expose herself... In the end, we filmed with Suzi maybe seven different times over four years, and we kept digging away to go deeper and deeper.”
