Ross Wilson Announces '50 Years Of Hits' Australian Tour

Aussie music icon Ross Wilson is hitting the road with his all-star band, The Peaceniks, celebrating 50 Years Of Hits on the Now Listen! We’re Steppin’ Out! Australian tour.

The tour begins on Friday, 29 September, at the Caloundra Music Festival in Queensland and travels across the country throughout October, November and December 2023, expanding into 2024, ending the run on Sunday, 17 March, at the Forge Theatre in Bairnsdale, Victoria. A press release teases setlists that include Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock hits alongside Wilson’s solo outings, including the promotion of his latest EP, She’s Stuck On Facebook All The Time, released earlier this year. She’s Stuck On Facebook All The Time is Wilson’s first release in 13 years. The four tracks on the EP tackle “the curse of the modern age” – lamenting not getting any with your partner because they’re addicted to social media – living in a world with destructive leaders (Desolation Blues), but music is there for us and providing the soundtrack we need.

Elsewhere, Wilson embraces self-deprecating songwriting on No Fool Quite Like Me and tells a tale of the suburban dream gone wrong on Housewife In A Floral Dress.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Wilson stars in Songwriters Speak: Conversations About Creating Music, an Australian music lover’s bible, which is finally back in print after 15 years. Initially released in 2005, Debbie Kruger’s iconic book was re-released on Thursday, 1 June.
