Scientists Founder Kim Salmon Announces New Solo Album & Headline Tour

Kim Salmon — the prolific punk/blues/rock auteur and also founding member of The Scientists and Beasts of Bourbon — has announced a new album, My Script, and a corresponding national tour.

The veteran artist has stated that My Script, a candid and autobiographical long-player, is his first true solo album, its 20 tracks coming with an unprecedented organic ease for the songwriter.

"All I have done with this record is just make music and write songs without any criteria other than 'do I like this idea?' and 'does it sound good?'" Salmon said in a statement.

The album's soundscape ranges from full-band productions to bare-essentials minimalist tracks; there's even a collaboration with academic and media commentator Waleed Aly for the track Client JGT683.

To launch the new album, he will be heading around Australia playing with a different ensemble for each occasion to see what different players bring to each show.

Kim Salmon will play two shows (7pm and 10pm) at The Junk Bar in Brisbane on 12 March, heading on to The Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on 19 March, Union Hotel in Sydney on 9 April, Crown and Anchor in Adelaide on 15 April, The Flying Saucer Club in Melbourne on 16 April, Mojo's Bar in Fremantle on 22 April, and Bar 459 in Perth on 23 April.
