Shows to come later in the year.

More The Cannanes More The Cannanes

Sydney DIY pop geniuses The Cannanes have a new record called Howling At All Hours out through Chapter Music later this year (Friday 5 July, to be precise) ; it'll be their first new release in over a decade and first since they recently reunited with founding drummer Dr David Nichols.

Today we get to hear the first taste of the new LP, a very quirky, idiosyncratic track (as if we'd expect anything else from them) called A Bigger Splash. It'll polarise, as their music tends to do, but we reckon it's a glorious slice of pop that grabs you from the first line and just makes you need to hear what's going to come next.

The band will play some launch shows for the new album towards the end of this year, with dates scheduled for September and October and due to be announced real soon.
