The renowned band return Down Under in support of newest LP 'Hidden City'

More The Cult More The Cult

Veteran UK outfit The Cult have announced a three-date run of shows in Australia this November in honour of new album Hidden City.

The line-up of founding singer Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, along with drummer John Tempesta, bassist Grant Fitzpatrick and keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Damon Fox, will kick off their antipodean sojourn in Brisbane, where they'll play the Eaton's Hill Hotel, carrying on to Sydney's Enmore Theatre and Melbourne's Festival Hall to complete the tour.

Hidden City, which was released back in February, was The Cult's first studio full-length in four years — since 2012's Choice Of Weapon — and their 10th overall in a career that has spanned more than 30 years (and more than 30 members all up, including a big-enough, ever-changing cast of drummers to make Spinal Tap blush). They've triumphed over internal and personal tumult to achieve wide recognition repeatedly during that time, notably for singles such as She Sells SanctuaryLove Removal Machine and Fire Woman.

Truly dedicated supporters of the band — those in their fan club — will have a chance at a 24-hour exclusive pre-sale from 10am tomorrow, 6 September, while Telstra customers also get an exclusive pre-sale running for 48 hours from midday on Wednesday, 7 September, until the same time on Friday, 9 September.
