Get ready to mosh across Sydney Harbour!

More Gyroscope More Gyroscope

Gyroscope and Bodyjar will headline Sydney's newest festival: Sin Or Swim, the inaugural punk cruise that will dock for passengers in March 2023.

The boat will take ship and board at Pyrmont's Casino Wharf on Saturday, 12 March 2023. The event commences at noon and ends at 4 pm. Arrive at 11 am for registration.

Joining Perth legends Gyroscope and Melbourne punk heroes Bodyjar are Sydney's "wannabe punk band" Nerdlinger and pop-punks Bellwether. Meanwhile, the journey will also include acoustic sets from Vetty Vials, Blake Cateris, Diego Mora and Joe Guiton.

Sin Or Swim promises that "The world is our oyster". The festival is brought to us by Chopdog Entertainment & Def Wolf Music, who will present a new monthly Sydney Harbour Cruise series of Australia's coolest punk rock, ska, and alternative bands.

Pre-sale for Sin Or Swim's maiden voyage begins on Tuesday, 22 November, at 10 am local time. General sale tickets will be sold from Thursday, 24 November, at 10 am local time via Moshtix. Sign up for the pre-sale here.

Bodyjar vocalist Cam Baines waxed lyrical about his favourite lyrics from the band's latest album, New Rituals, and his favourite songs ever with The Music earlier this year.

In his favourite verse from New Rituals, Baines said, "It's hard to pick with so much insightful wordsmithing going on, but I'd say the first lyric in Surrender: "You celebrate and masticate.I thought, 'Tom's finally written a song about wanking,' then I looked it up and realised he was writing about chewing your food properly, which I guess is a global issue right now."

He also finds perfection in The End by The Beatles, in which he says the words, "And in the end / The love you take / Is equal to the love you make" will make The Beatles big one day, with the proper single and the correct management.

Baines also took a subtle jab at Sammy Hagar's writing, stating, "In Why Can't This Be Love by Van Halen, Sammy Hagar wrote a line that goes, "Only time will tell if we stand the test of time." That makes me happy because it makes my lyrics feel a lot better than I thought before I heard that lyric."
