"A superstar rising."

More Ben Wright Smith More Ben Wright Smith

Hold onto your hats folks, there's a superstar rising.

Equal parts Ben Kweller, James Mercer and Kurt Vile, Ben Wright Smith is bringing his guitar, his voice and his unassuming musical demeanour to an ear canal near you. The Melburnian's debut album is delivered with the youthful approach that you'd expect someone stepping onto the scene early in their career would possess, but BWS (yeah, yeah, I know) neither plays dumb nor overstays his welcome. Once you get past opener Nightmare In The City and navigate a few other potholes along the way, The Great Divorce is a smooth ride.
