"Despite his performance being rather short, Brian brings an infectious energy to his stage show and proves he's no one hit wonder."

More Rich Brian More Rich Brian

Sydneysider Shantan Wantan Ichiban warms the young crowd up with an eclectic mix of hip-hop tunes: Post Malone's Rockstar, Kendrick Lamar's King Kuta, Schoolboy Q's Man Of The Year and Travis Scott's Antidote are just a few of the hits Ichiban spins, with the packed dancefloor appreciating his efforts.

Rising Indonesian artist Niki follows and serenades the near-capacity crowd with her lush R&B productions. Claiming Melbourne is her "favourite city", Niki's smooth and soulful tunes have everyone swaying along, with latest single Dancing With The Devil the clear standout.

First finding a cult following through his comedy videos on now-defunct social media platform Vine, Rich Brian became a viral sensation thanks to the film clip for his trap single Dat $tick. Dropping the comedy and taking rap seriously, Brian arrives Down Under for his first tour in celebration of his debut album Amen. Bouncing on stage wearing all black and sporting shades, Brian receives a rousing reception. The front section is absolutely rammed with kiddies wearing Brian merchandise who jump as one when he spits his verse from Gospel.

"Melbourne, what the fuck is up?" Brian enthusiastically asks. "One question: ya'll ready to turn the fuck up?" The answer is a clear yes as Brian launches into Seventeen and the moshpit explodes into a mass of waving arms, nodding heads and camera phones. Brian is a hyperactive ball of teenage energy as he struts about the stage, a huge grin plastered across his face during his entire performance. With only one album to his name, Brian's set is short but sweet, with the slower-paced Glow Like Dat, the icy trap of See Me and 808s-heavy Chaos all proving to be crowd pleasers.

Brian employs the standard hip-hop cliches of dividing the crowd into sections to find out who is the loudest while also getting us to respond to his chant of "Brian" with "Rich". Usually this gets a little boring, but thanks to Brian's genuine joy at being here we're more than happy to yell and scream for him all night long. Who That Be has one lad waving his jacket in the air like Kevin Sheedy before Dat $tick turns the entire venue into a rave. The crowd is so hyped that Brian even returns to play Dat $tick one more time before venturing off stage for good.

Despite his performance being rather short, Brian brings an infectious energy to his stage show and proves he's no one hit wonder.
