"The funkiest synth-laden instrumentals known to man."

More Touch Sensitive More Touch Sensitive

The Goods get the audience into a boogie in no time with their soulful disco vibes full of synth-funk with an R&B flavour and slick vocals. Their latest single Glow is a taste from the trio’s forthcoming EP titled Make You Move and it does exactly as it suggests.

Touch Sensitive (aka Michael Di Francesco) brings his full live band with him for tonight’s performance. Usually Francesco is a one-man band, but instead, his new show has him leading the charge of a heavy rhythm alongside a talented group of musos including Harvey Sutherland on keys and Catriona Hunter on drums. With the band by his side, Francesco is able to focus all of his energy into slapping the bass and busting out the funkiest synth-laden instrumentals known to man. He begins with his supreme First Slice – Intro, which teases a sample of Pizza Guy to get the crowd salivating. Singer WILLS, who features on Putting On Airs, also lends his impressive chords for all other vocal parts tonight and is a superb fit. His rich falsetto and soulful tones wrap around the groovy beat ever so smoothly.

Di Francesco has been slowly drip-feeding singles over the last few years under his solo moniker, so his debut album Visions has felt like a long time coming and certainly something worth celebrating. His nostalgic, yet modern, original material is a mix of funk, disco, and electronica with a cool ‘80’s-asthetic that he embodies right down to his retro Magnum P.I moustache. Touch Sensitive glides through the frenetic paced set with plenty of confident basslines, syncopated synthesizers and irresistibly catchy handclap moments for the whole audience to join in on. "This is a song about cats,” he tells us before diving into The Mystery Of Cats inspired by the ongoing struggle to understand and communicate with his favourite feline friends.

Di Francesco then shares a remix Rufus’ Sarah that he did a while ago and it starts off with a slow groove before quickly turning into a dancefloor-filler as WILLS joins in on vocals for the energetic chorus. Di Francesco tells us that he hasn’t been playing with the full live band for very long but it seems as if they’ve been doing this show for years. Pizza Guy is finally unleashed in all its glory to get the crowd into a continuous dance party. Lay Down serves as the encore of the show and Di Francesco reveals it’s a song that almost didn't come out but we’re so glad it did because it’s one of his best.
