More Twenty One Pilots More Twenty One Pilots

US duo Twenty One Pilots, consisting of Josh Dun (Drums) and Tyler Joseph (Vocals, piano, ukulele, bass, samples, everything else), have hit Australian shores in support of their most recent album Blurryface, playing the Groovin The Moo festival as well as a string of sold out shows across the country.  Dedicated fans, who had been lining up since the night before the show, surrounded the Astor Theatre, waiting to be a part of the band's first headline show in Perth.

NSW central coast teen E^ST had the task of warming up the show, which she did effectively. Her interesting stage presence combined with her heavily percussive, electronic tunes had the crowd clapping and moving along.

Twenty One Pilots are known for their explosive live shows. Tonight they showed us exactly why they have that reputation. Opening the set with high energy Heavydirtysoul and extremely popular Stressed Out, they set the pace in high gear, which continued throughout the entire set.

In-between-song banter was kept to a minimum with Joseph only occasionally stopping to ask the crowd how they were doing. The crowd's voice could clearly be heard over Joseph's from start to end, with the loyal and passionate fan base screaming every single word back at the band.

The setlist mainly consisted of songs from Blurryface, but four songs from Vessel made an appearance (Guns For Hands, Migraine, Holding On To You, Car Radio, and Trees). Fans were treated to a ukulele cover of Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling In Love.

The duo kept the crowd entertained with a frenzied light show and multiple wardrobe changes, displaying their multi-instrumental talents, dancing on and doing flips off of pianos, as well as leading the crowd in mass singalongs (not that the fans needed any encouragement). At one point Tyler mysteriously disappeared from the stage only to appear on the balcony to spit the last verse of Car Radio. They ended the show with a bang (literally) as both Tyler and Josh pounded the drums while crowdsurfing on wooden boards passed out into the audience.

If you ever get the chance to attend a Twenty One Pilots live show, do not give it a second thought, just go! It is an experience that you do not want to miss out on.
