Yours The Face

"A charismatic, complex and human insight into people in an industry who are often cast as vapid or disingenuous."

Yours The Face was running at the Blue Room Theatre this week as part of their Summer Nights Program.

The 50-minute one-man show was a transfixing merger of the fine work of Melbourne playwright Fleur Kilpatrick and the acting prowess of WA’s Roderick Cairns. In the spirit of Blue Room Theatre the narrative was unusual yet transfixing all the same as Cairns, alone on the minimal set, explored two unlikely characters in the fashion industry who meet in London. The play offers a charismatic, complex and human insight into people in an industry who are often cast as vapid or disingenuous. Cairns deserves a special mention for his seamless transitions between two polar characters of different gender, his equal commitment and execution of both roles and his unwavering ability to captivate the audience with a lengthy monologue.
