Australian-owned digital music distribution platform GYROstream has launched a bold expansion to offer independent artists new opportunities for sync and brand partnerships.

Presenting opportunities that are usually reserved for artists signed to major labels are Sydney-based Dan Gibson, officially the company’s new Head of Publishing and Sync, and Nathan Tito as GYROstream’s Publicity and Partnerships Manager.

According to a press release, Gibson has already secured collaborations between GYROstream artists, Google Pixel, and Reece Plumbing, making him the ideal candidate for working on the company’s brands, Distro Direct and GROUP SPEED.

Gibson, a musician and industry professional, has worked in publishing and sync with experience in New York City and Australia (Universal Music Publishing, Good Time Management), collaborated with Toyota, Optus, Afterpay, Pepsi, Netflix, the Olympics, and more.

He said of his role at GYROstream, “Our goal is to build a truly international framework where indie artists can thrive in the sync space. This is just the beginning, and we’re excited about what’s to come.”

Meanwhile, Nathan Tito brings experience in executing high-profile activations for clients such as the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, Crown Melbourne, and more. With GYROstream, Tito has secured opportunities for artists on the ARIA red carpet in collaboration with Oxford House, Universal Pictures Premieres, Red Bull, and Ovolo Hotels.

GYROstream CEO Andy Irvine said, “These kinds of opportunities have historically been reserved for artists within the major label ecosystem. We’re changing that. Independent artists deserve the same access to sync and brand partnerships as anyone else, and we’re building the infrastructure to make that happen.”

Last year, Former Label Partnerships Lead at Spotify Canada, Adrian Burke, Global Head of A&R at GYROstream, Benjamin James, and GYROstream and Distro Direct Marketing Specialist Jackson McMaster teamed up with trailblazing digital strategist Alison Bremner and artist manager Taylor Dwyer to launch the new artist service Group Speed.

The new initiative was born out of a desire to replace old music industry models. It aims to build artists’ careers and fanbases through distribution and funding solutions.
