Guy Sebastian has revealed that not only are his children musical, but his ten-year-old son, Archie, has even shown an interest in sharing his own music.
Appearing on The Hit Network’s The Pulse with Seany B this month, the Battle Scars singer unveiled Archie’s powerful song, Confess, which he wrote on the eve of his grandfather’s funeral.
“There’s a crack in my heart and it’s getting deeper ’cause you’re not here/ And I’m still crying like I’m still thinking that somehow you would’ve been,” Archie sings in Confess, a song Sebastian said moved him and his wife, Jules, to tears.
“Archie, my son, is a weapon. He’s a proper weapon singer,” Sebastian told Seany B. “He wrote this song recently for his grandpa, who died, my wife’s dad, and we were bawling our eyes out. It was the night before the funeral, and he was like… ‘Dad, I’ve written this song.’”
Adding that Archie plays the guitar and hears melodies, Sebastian said: “His intuition and his sensitivity is crazy; he knows how to deliver. He’s such an emotional kid.”
Sebastian immediately took Archie to the studio after hearing Confess, stating that his son is “special” and has an innate ability to connect.

“He’s special, he’s just got something; you can’t teach that stuff… that connection,” Sebastian explained.

In October, Sebastian revealed that he would be leaving the coach’s chair on The Voice Australia after six years, so he could have more time to focus on his music.
Taking to Instagram, he congratulated the winner of last year’s season – Perth singer Reuben De Melo – before revealing his decision to take a break from The Voice so he can commit to “writing and performing new music.”
In addition to sharing his commitment to writing and touring, Sebastian wrote that he is planning shows in Australia and internationally. He’s also been working on the follow-up to his 2020 album T.R.U.T.H. over the last four years.
