The effervescent Egyptian/Australian Joseph Tawadros has announced he will be at Nexus Arts next month to unveil his latest work, World Music.

Tawadros is known for his expert Middle-Eastern soundscapes, compounded by the oud (Arabic lute), and dizzying jazz-inspired tempos.

Additionally, World Music is proof the musician has been busy.

“For the album, I immersed myself in a range of genres, drawing upon my previous collaborations,” he says.

“This album is totally different to anything I’ve done before. As well as the oud, I’m playing a range of other wonderful instruments.”

On September 17, Tawadros will demonstrate his musical dexterity on the oud, piano, cello, and a host of other brass and string instruments.

Joining him will be Matt McMahon on piano, Karl Dunnicliff on bass, and his brother, James Tawadros, with percussion.

Doors are at 8PM. Tickets via Nexus Arts.
