More Odette More Odette

It’s a big week for Australian singer-songwriter Odette who today releases a new EP alongside news that her album Herald is vying for the prestigious Australian Music Prize.

EP Offcuts shines a new light on the acclaimed album, featuring stripped back versions of tracks from the release alongside her cover of AC'DC’s Thunderstruck from triple j’s Like A Version last year.

"Whilst added production is festive, I think it's important for me to release the songs stripped back so people can hear the core without the added textures,” Odette said of Offcuts.

“I'm really happy the piano and vocal tracks have been released. This is how I play and write when I'm not in the studio. Feels like I'm including others in my isolated living room nonsense."

Herald landed in The Music's Top 25 Albums Of 2021 (So Far) list, with reviewer Guido Farnell noting: “Odette produces pop songs but, rather than working well-known recipes, is unafraid to experiment to deliver something fresh.”
