The Fumes Are Reformed And Ready To Launch Their Album

After suffering a major setback after the release of their 2009 album that saw the band drop off the radar for a number of years, Australian two piece blues band The Fumes have added a third member to their line-up and will hit the road to launch their new album, Bloodless, this February.

New band member and album producer Ryan Hazell has previously been a part of acts The Drones, Green Buzzard and The Snowdroppers and has added a layer of musical depth to the former duo - allowing them to thrash out anthemic blues riffs like never before.

The tour will extend across a host of cities in four Aussie states and will feature a variety of special guests at different stops on the tour. The tour will mark the first time the band has hit the road since supporting the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age and Clutch on tour.

Founding member Stephen Merry overtly clarifies the band's extended tenure on the sidelines in the Bloodless liner notes:  "A little while between drinks is definitely a questionable way to start this off, though it’s been a few years between albums for The Fumes.

 

"I’ve had most of these songs floating around in my head for at least seven-odd years, some for more, though it took what was really an inevitable breakdown of the then-current systems in many areas of my reality, a spell hanging in anguish, paranoia and self abuse, and then the subsequent rebuild (birth) to just get moving again… an interesting time to say the least”.
