Tori Amos will continue her Ocean To Ocean US tour throughout July after facing a serious leg injury.

Taking to social media on 29 June, the Silent All These Years singer told fans that she had broken her fibula and torn an ankle tendon after tripping on “my ever so fashionable high heel tassels that unraveled [sic] in Charlotte.”

Amos also shared two photos with her fans, one of her leg wrapped with fabric around an ice pack and another of her trusted “silver foxes” – multi-instrumentalist Jon Evans and drummer Ash Soan beside her as she played the piano while wearing a medical walking boot.

“Hi Team. So I have been a bit of a ding bell and tripped on my ever so fashionable high heel tassels that unraveled in Charlotte,” Amos wrote on social media.

“I went to the good sports Doctors of New York yesterday and they have informed me that I have a broken fibula and a torn ankle tendon.

“I now have a lovely boot which I am wearing during the day, but no fear I will be at the piano as usual for the rest of the tour. I may just be moving a little slower to and from the Bose and will probably need those silver foxes to lend a hand...

“Can’t wait to see you all tonight and the rest of the tour.”

Yesterday, she posted another two photos with her silver foxes and a setlist picture. In the caption, she joked, “Break a leg they said.... Good job I have the Silver Foxes by my side...”

In March, The Music wondered if Cornflake Girl featuring on the Paramount+ series Yellowjackets would skyrocket Amos to the top of the ARIA Singles Chart like Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) did after playing on Stranger Things. She didn’t quite get there, but we hope for a second go at mainstream fame for Amos.

Cornflake Girl was originally released in January 1994, with Amos' groundbreaking second album, Under The Pink, coming out a few weeks later. Cornflake Girl debuted at #19 in Australia, while the album hit #5 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Last June, Kate Bush achieved her first #1 single in 44 years, with Stranger Things spinning her song.

It's been nine long years since Tori Amos visited Australia. You can check out The Music's review of her Perth show here.
