"They've swooped on that '70s-tinged Britpop shtick."

More Green Buzzard More Green Buzzard

Sydney's Green Buzzard have been making their vibrant pop rock presence known in the past couple of years.

Now they've swooped on that '70s-tinged Britpop shtick — Tame Impala, Pond, DMA'S — with a collection of short, sunny ditties on their latest EP. Single Do You Ever Glow? really does push the right buttons with its catchy chorus and spacey vocals, and it has good companions in Never Let Me Go, I.D.W.K and Hypnotised with their punchy energy and angular guitars. Things come a bit unstuck with Tear My Heart Away and Space Control falling flat in the mid-section, but it's a small quibble in a largely solid listen.
