Album Review: Mazzy Star - Seasons Of Your Day

A riffing organ line opens Mazzy Star's fourth studio album Seasons Of Your Day, soon backed by David Roback's wanderlust-infused cutting guitar and Hope Sandoval's breathy warble. It's hard to believe the late '90s indie folksters are only chalking up album number four, given the quietly impressive heights they reached in the past. It's a largely self-produced effort with some guest spots and it's sometimes uplifting (In The Kingdom), often chilling (California), but always assured, as the duo always were, really.
