How much money our favourite digital service providers (DSPs) Spotify, Meta, Google, Apple, and Amazon donated to Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday (20 January) has been revealed.
According to the Sweden Herald, Spotify donated $150,000 to the US President’s inauguration. In addition to the donation, Pitchfork reports that the streaming power hosted a brunch the day before the ceremony featuring podcasters Joe Rogan and Ben Shapiro, country artist Riley Green, and others.
“Spotify has long hosted events in Washington, D.C., and other capitals worldwide, bringing together political leaders, media figures, and industry peers from across the political spectrum,” a spokesperson for Spotify wrote in a statement seen by Bloomberg, adding that those engagements are “business as usual.”
The Economic Times reports that the Mark Zuckerberg-led Meta (which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp) donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund.
Meanwhile, Google—which owns YouTube—and Jeff Bezos's US e-commerce giant, Amazon, reportedly donated $1 million each. The inauguration was live-streamed on YouTube and Amazon Prime Video. Apple CEO Tim Cook also donated $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural committee.
Others who donated to Donald Trump’s inauguration include OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Uber, Adobe, Ford, Toyota, and more. Tech billionaire Elon Musk, who owns the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), reportedly donated over $270 million “to help Trump getting elected to the White House.”

Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony featured performances by country stars Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Parker McCollum, and Lee Greenwood, as well as The Village People, Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus, Rascal Flatts, and more.
When her appearance at the ceremony was announced last week, Underwood said: “I love our country and am honored [sic] to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
