Record Store Day Australia has grown once more ahead of this year’s big day, adding Gordi to the stacked local release list and announcing a string of in-store performances and activities.
The big day is set for Saturday, 12 April, and will take over independent record stores across Australia. A complete list of activities is now listed on the Record Store Day Australia website, where you can find up-to-date information and location information on stores hosting celebrations nationwide.
Gordi will share a double single 7” of Peripheral Lover and Alien Cowboy on limited edition pink marble for her Record Store Day exclusive release.
She said of her appreciation for record stores, “Rifling through crates in record stores is my favourite thing. Discovering gems I’ve never heard of, finding albums that I love newly released on vinyl. Record stores are more important than ever for connecting artists and audiences.”
The in-store performances and activities include:
Free in-store performances from Press Club and Steve Bourke at Music Farmers, Wollongong
DJ sets from Guy Blackman, Harvey Sutherland, Olana Janfa, and Paper Cuts at Skydiver Records, Melbourne
Performances from Haters, Gudgeon, and Psych Lone at Bad Habits Records, Nambour, QLD
Performances from BATTS, Bek Sykes and more at Rocksteady Records, Melbourne
Performances from Loose Content and Maddy Jane at Impressed Records and Bondi Records in Sydney
Performances from The Grogans, Immy Owusu, and Mia June at Soundmerch, Melbourne, as well as a DJ set from Heavy Moss
