As the devastating Los Angeles wildfires continue to burn throughout California, the human toll of those affected is being made clear.

Already, we’ve managed to see countless big-name celebrites describe the impact of the blaze, with the likes of Paris Hilton echoing the 1983 report from Adelaide’s Murray Nicoll as she spoke about watching her house burn down on live television.

“The devastation is unimaginable,” Hilton wrote. “To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”

Others, including comedian Billy Crystal, actor Eugene Levy, and musician Mandy Moore have also spoke about how they’ve lost property in the fires.

Another example is DIIV frontman Zachary Smith, who took to socials to reveal he had also lost his home in the blazes. A GoFundMe campaign was launched for Smith, his prgnant wife, and young child as they attempt to rebuild in the wake of the disaster.

"We are just one of many, many families who have lost their homes today,” Smith wrote. “Some of the most profound kindness we’ve experienced today has been from other families who lost their homes as well. We are not alone, which has brought us a lot of sadness but also a strange sense of comfort and community."

Despite the physical distance between Australia and Los Angeles, a handful of Aussie artists have also spoken about how they too have been affected by the fires, including Vassy, who has shared updates on social media about her own experiences while also providing resources for others out there.

“Thank you so much for checking in with me …I’m safe but packed an emergency bag & ready to bounce if we get evacuation orders,” the musician wrote on Threads yesterday.

Likewise, G Flip also took to Instagram stories to how they, partner Chrishell Stause, and dog Gracie were also forced to leave their home in the interest of safety.

“Myself, Chrisell & Gracie had to evacuate our house in a hurry but we are safe at my studio,” they wrote. “Be safe LA friends.”

“Thankfully, my area is safe for now,” Stause added. “Impossible to sleep while your city burns. Please pray for us.”

Currently, no major tours in Australia have been affected by the fires, though updates will be provided if this changes in the coming days.
