"It’s a chance to frolic in the forest with pals, dress up, and celebrate the true meaning of pride."

More Years & Years More Years & Years

A brand new touring pride festival is set to hit Australia next year, touring nationally with some of the biggest local and international names around.

Summer Camp Festival will kick off from February, aiming to be an all-out celebration of LGBTQIA+ peoples, culture and identity - with some banging tunes and performances along the way. The event will travel to Melbourne, Sydney, Darwin and Perth throughout Februrary and March.

"After 2 years of cancelled parties, loose event calendars and empty dance floors, I couldn’t be more excited for Summer Camp Festival which will bring together some of my favourite parts of queer culture for massive one day parties in four cities," explained festival organiser and creator of Heaps Gay Kat Dopper.

Summer Camp Festival is a new inclusive festival experience that accepts all the cuties. It’s a chance to frolic in the forest with pals, dress up, and celebrate the true meaning of pride. Love has no labels at Summer Camp - it’s a place to call ‘homo’ this pride season. Let’s get sweaty this summer and feel the euphoria of being together and dancing again”

The festival is also the first to go ahead with an international headliner since any of the many covid lockdowns throughout the country. Acts involved include UK pop megastar Years & Years (AKA inimitable performer and breakout star of It's A Sin Olly Alexander), New Orleans rap sensation Big Freedia, and NZ indie stalwart Ladyhawke. They'll be joined by local faves including The Veronicas, Confidence Man, Cub Sport, Sycco and many more.

Tickets for Summer Camp Festival are on sale from 10am next Tuesday, 16 November. For all the info, head to theGuide.
