More Years & Years More Years & Years

British pop sensation Years & Years has unveiled a cover of Crystal Waters' 100% Pure Love, which will soundtrack Target's overseas 2022 holiday campaign. The track is Olly Alexander's first release since covering American Boy by Estelle in August; his latest album, Night Call, came out in January this year.

He said about the release, "I was so happy when Target asked me to create my version of the legendary Crystal Waters track 100% Pure Love. I knew right away I wanted to work with Georgia and Mark Ralph to bring this cover to life. Crystal's vocal on the original is so captivating, she has such a special energy, and that really inspired me when I came to record my vocals. I'm really hoping people enjoy it; it has such a positive message and liberating feel to it; I love it!"

Years & Years will headline the first-ever Summer Camp Festival at The Roundhouse in Sydney this Saturday and Melbourne's Coburg Velodrome next Saturday. Alexander will also play two solo shows between festival dates at Brisbane's Fortitude Music Hall on 9 November and another at Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide on 11 November.

The festival organiser and creator of Heaps Gay Kat Dopper revealed that "Summer Camp Festival is a new inclusive festival experience that accepts all the cuties. It's a chance to frolic in the forest with pals, dress up, and celebrate the true meaning of pride. Love has no labels at Summer Camp. Let's get sweaty this summer and feel the euphoria of being together and dancing again."

Olly Alexander starred in the Russell T Davies written and executively-produced series, It's A Sin, which followed the lives of Ritchie (Alexander), Roscoe (Omari Douglas) and Colin (Callum Scott Howells) as they embarked on a new life in the 1980s London at the beginning of the decade. As the years pass, and they grow up in the shadow of AIDS, they're determined to live and love more fiercely than ever.

"I feel like the luckiest boy in the world to be a part of this project; I've been a fan of Russell T Davies ever since I watched Queer As Folk in secret at 14 years old. His work helped shape my identity as a gay person, so I'm absolutely over the moon... I laughed and cried a lot, it's a privilege to be helping to tell this story, and I'm so excited," Alexander said at the trailer's release.
